FAQ & Policies

We appreciate your support of our small farm and want you to be happy with your order. Please read through the following information prior to ordering. 

 

CSA Policies

PAYMENT

I understand that once I sign up and pay for my membership in full, I have secured my place in the CSA for the respective season. There are no refunds, either full or partial, for cancellation of my CSA once purchased. Members may choose to find an alternate person to buy out the rest of the season’s share, and the share ownership will be transferred to the alternate person. The alternate person will pay the original shareholder directly.

GIFTING A SHARE

I understand that it is my responsibility to ensure the giftee has been informed of their membership and is receiving communication from the farm. Giftees will not receive an email automatically after purchase but will be added to the member contact list for all future communication about start dates and pickup details. 

SHARE DATES

I understand that the start of each CSA share is flexible and based on seasonal conditions and product availability. I am aware that Stonewall Dahlias and Flower Farm will communicate via email to inform all shareholders of updates and start dates, and that it is my responsibility to contact the farm via email if I am not receiving notifications near the specified CSA start dates shared in the product details. 

PICKING UP YOUR SHARE

If I am out of town or unable to pickup my CSA for any reason, I understand that it is my responsibility to find a substitute to take my share. If I am unable to pickup my share or find a substitute to pick up my share, I will not receive credit or a refund for any shares that I do not pickup. I understand that if my share is not picked up on the designated days, I forfeit that share.

CHANGES TO MY SHARE

I understand that once I have purchased a CSA, I am not able to request an alternate pickup date for my share(s), or extend my share due to a missed pick up for any reason. I may coordinate the transfer of my share to another individual. I understand that Stonewall Dahlias and Flower Farm does not facilitate such transfers, and that I will make all arrangements for the new shareholder to pay me directly for the remainder of the share.

SHARING OUR SEASON

I understand that as a member, I share in both the bounty and the risks of farming. I understand that the risks include poor harvests due to unfavorable weather or pests, or the total loss of all crops due to a natural disaster such as fire, flood, drought, tropical storm or hurricane.

COMMUNICATION

By signing up for the CSA, I understand that I will be added to the weekly email list, and I agree to add stonewalldahlias@gmail.com to my email contacts. This is how Stonewall Dahlias and Flower Farm communicates updates and changes, as well as what will be in shares each week. Stonewall Dahlias and Flower Farm will not be held responsible for miscommunications due to our e-mails going to your spam folder. I will notify the farm immediately if I do not receive an e-mail receipt of my payment or my weekly CSA emails.

 

Dahlia Tuber Policies

Tuber Guarantee - We guarantee that your tubers will be true to ID and arrive with at least one eye. We go through multiple checks to ensure that we are supplying you with the best quality product. All tubers sold by us are grown on our farm in Lancaster, MA.

Please inspect your tubers immediately upon arrival and contact us via email at stonewalldahlias@gmail.com within 72 hours of your order arriving if you have any concerns. Please understand that we can not be held responsible for improper storage once you receive your tubers, weather, pests, growing conditions, plant performance, failure to thrive, or negligence.

Shipping -  A flat fee of $17 will be charged for all orders to cover the costs of materials and shipping. Dahlia tuber shipping begins in April as the weather allows. All orders are shipped using USPS priority mail. You will receive an email with tracking information once your order has shipped. We are unable to ship outside of the United States. 

Shipping on multiple orders will be combined. The difference in shipping fees will be refunded once your order ships. 

There will be one day for farm pickup it is Saturday May 10th from 10am-1pm. Please only select farm pickup if you are able to commit to picking up that day. 

Shopping Cart - Items in your cart are not reserved. Your order is only confirmed once you checkout and receive an order confirmation email. If an item sells out before checkout is completed you will not be able to purchase the item.

We know how frustrating this can be so here are some tips for a faster checkout. Have your account set up and logged in before you order. Have your device set up to autofill credit card information. If you have your heart set on a specific variety purchase that tuber immediately at the start of the sale then go back to order other varieties.

Limits - We have set limits on certain varieties to help ensure that more people have a chance to grow the harder to obtain varieties. These limits are per household.

Substitutions - We do not offer substitutions due to stock loss. We will refund you the price of the tuber(s) if unexpected storage loss happens between your order and shipping. 

Changes & Cancellations - We are unable to accept cancellations or changes to an order after it is placed. 

Dahlias Viruses - Viruses are very common in dahlias and while some plants show obvious signs of infection others may show little to no symptoms. We aggressively cull any suspicious plants during the growing season, use organic methods to keep pests controlled, and sanitize between plants. Our fields are inspected by the Massachusetts Department of Agriculture.
